This exam provides the candidates with a gateway to joining one of the most coveted government organizations in India. Candidates who qualify the sectional, as well as overall cutoffs in the prelims, will be eligible for the RBI Assistant Mains exam.The final selection will be based only on performance in the Mains exam. The language proficiency test is qualifying in nature.

RBI Assistant Eligibility: Educational Qualifications
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates).
- Candidates must have knowledge of word processing on PC.
- Candidates applying for a post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.
- A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defense service.

RBI Assistant Preliminary Examination Pattern
- Total time allotted for Preliminary exam is 60 minutes, that means the duration to attempt each section will be 20 minutes.
- For every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted from final score.
- It is a qualifying exam i.e. on the basis of this candidate will be allowed to attempt main examination.
